From the checkout counter to the backend

For two years I worked as a cashier in a town where most of my regulars were seniors. Now I'm on the backend of a platform at Carleton Blueprint that helps seniors find grants they qualify for, and building something for people like them has been one of the best feelings I've had as a developer.

That's what I look for in my work: products that help someone in a real way. I'm a backend developer, so I usually live in the APIs and data pipelines behind the scenes, making sure things work well for the people using them.

Backend Developer
Carleton Blueprint
  • Primary backend developer, sole backend developer since May 2026, building a TypeScript platform with Next.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL to automate client intake and AI-powered grant eligibility evaluation for 100+ seniors, including the S3 upload pipeline, RBAC, and MFA-backed authentication.
Data Engineer (Co-op)
Department of National Defence • Ontario, Canada
  • Built authenticated data pipelines from Microsoft Fabric to AWS S3 and designed a least-privilege access model for OneLake, validating row- and column-level security across a Protected B environment.
Software Developer

  • Led the ingestion sub-team for a rocketry RAG system, building a Python pipeline that ingested 1,000+ engineering documents with OCR, MIME detection, and byte-hash deduplication.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

  • Mentored 25+ students weekly in C programming and data structures, grading 150+ assignments and leading 3 review sessions.
